Our Promise
Talesbrew exists for one reason: to help real people build real connections in the real world. Every feature we build — from your interest profile to group chats to in-person events — is designed with that mission in mind.
These Community Guidelines are not a list of rules for the sake of rules. They are the foundation of a community where people feel safe enough to show up, be themselves, and actually meet. If you are here in good faith, most of this will feel like common sense.
If you violate these guidelines, we may remove your content, restrict your account, or permanently ban you from the Platform. Serious violations — especially those involving safety — may be reported to law enforcement.
1. Be Who You Say You Are
Authenticity is everything on Talesbrew. People are making decisions about whether to meet you in person. They deserve to know who they are actually meeting.
- Use your real name or the name people actually know you by
- Use photos that genuinely represent you — recent, clear, and of your face
- Do not impersonate another person, celebrity, or public figure
- Do not create fake accounts, duplicate accounts, or accounts on behalf of someone else
- Do not misrepresent your age, location, occupation, or any other personal details
We understand that some people value privacy, and that is respected — but anonymity is not the same as deception. You can be private without being misleading.
2. Treat Every Person With Respect
The people you interact with on Talesbrew are real humans with real feelings. How you treat them here reflects who you are.
Not allowed:
- Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse of any kind
- Sending unwanted romantic or sexual messages to someone who has not invited them
- Continuing to contact someone after they have asked you to stop
- Threatening, intimidating, or trying to extort another user
- Publicly sharing private information about someone without their consent (“doxxing”)
- Mocking, shaming, or humiliating other users based on their appearance, identity, or choices
- Coordinating with others to harass or pile onto a specific person
One rejection is final. If someone declines your connection, ignores your message, or leaves your group, that is their answer. Do not pursue them further through the Platform or outside of it.
3. Keep It Safe In Person
The whole point of Talesbrew is to meet people offline. That makes real-world safety a core part of these guidelines — not an afterthought.
As an attendee:
- Only attend events where you feel genuinely comfortable
- Meet in public places, especially for your first time meeting someone
- Let someone you trust know where you are going and who you are meeting
- Do not share event location details with people who are not confirmed attendees
- If something feels off, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
As an organizer:
- Be honest about what your event is. The title, description, and location should accurately reflect what will happen
- Do not use events to solicit money, products, or services outside of clearly stated ticket prices
- Do not use events to recruit people into business schemes, religious organizations, or any group under false pretenses
- You are responsible for setting a safe, welcoming tone. If someone at your event is making others uncomfortable, address it.
- Do not share attendee information — including their names, contact details, or exact location — with third parties
4. Groups Are Communities, Not Megaphones
Groups on Talesbrew are meant to bring people together around shared interests and real-world meetups — not to broadcast, advertise, or organize against others.
Group admins are responsible for:
- Setting clear, fair rules for their group
- Moderating content and removing members who violate these guidelines
- Ensuring the group’s description accurately reflects its purpose
- Not using the group to promote a business, product, or service in a deceptive way
All members must:
- Stay on topic and contribute in good faith
- Respect the group’s rules as set by the admin
- Not spam the group with repetitive messages, links, or promotions
- Not use the group to recruit members into outside platforms or communities without admin approval
Not allowed in groups:
- Using a group to organize harassment against any individual or community
- Creating groups whose primary purpose is political campaigning, multi-level marketing, or religious proselytizing under a misleading cover
- Sharing content that violates any section of these guidelines within a group
5. Keep Content Appropriate
Talesbrew is for adults, but that does not mean anything goes. The content you share — in your profile, in messages, in events, in groups — must meet these standards.
Not allowed:
- Sexually explicit content, including graphic images, videos, or descriptions
- Nudity in profile photos or public content
- Graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies harm to people or animals
- Content that depicts or promotes illegal activity, including drug use, weapons trafficking, or fraud
- Content designed to shock, disgust, or disturb without any legitimate purpose
A note on language: Strong language is a part of life and we are not going to police every word. But language used to demean, threaten, or dehumanize someone is not acceptable regardless of the specific words used.
6. Zero Tolerance for Hate
Talesbrew is for everyone. There is no place here for content or behavior that dehumanizes people based on who they are.
We do not allow:
- Hate speech targeting any person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or socioeconomic status
- Neo-Nazi content, white supremacist content, or content from any other extremist ideology that promotes the inferiority of any group
- Using slurs to attack or demean others
- Creating content that portrays any group of people as subhuman, inherently criminal, or undeserving of dignity
- Calling for violence or discrimination against any individual or group
Discussing difficult social issues is not the same as hate speech. Education, journalism, personal experience, and good-faith debate are welcome. Using those as a cover to spread hate is not.
7. No Exploitation or Abuse
The safety of every person on Talesbrew — especially vulnerable individuals — is non-negotiable.
Strictly prohibited:
- Sexual content involving minors in any form, including written, illustrated, or photographic content. This will result in an immediate permanent ban and will be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
- Grooming behavior — any attempt to build inappropriate trust or access with a minor
- Human trafficking — recruiting, transporting, or harboring people through force, fraud, or coercion
- Any attempt to use the Platform to exploit, manipulate, or take advantage of a vulnerable person
If you encounter any content or behavior that suggests a child is being exploited or is in danger, report it immediately using the in-app report feature and contact authorities.
8. Protect Privacy
What happens in a private conversation or a group stays there.
- Do not screenshot or record private conversations and share them publicly without the explicit consent of everyone involved
- Do not share another user’s personal information — phone number, home address, workplace, daily routine — with anyone else
- Do not use information shared in the context of a private event or group to harm or embarrass someone outside that context
- If someone shares something personal with you in trust, honor that trust
This applies even if you are in a dispute with that person.
9. No Spam or Commercial Abuse
Talesbrew is not a marketplace, an advertising platform, or a sales channel.
Not allowed:
- Sending unsolicited promotional messages to other users
- Creating profiles, events, or groups primarily to advertise a business or product
- Posting affiliate links, referral codes, or promotional content in chats or group messages without explicit admin permission
- Running giveaways, contests, or sweepstakes that are designed to harvest contact information
- Any form of pyramid scheme, multi-level marketing pitch, or investment solicitation
If you run a legitimate local business and want to genuinely participate in the community — such as hosting a real event at your venue — that is welcome. The line is authenticity. Showing up to connect is different from showing up to sell.
10. Do Not Misuse the Report Feature
Our reporting system exists to keep the community safe. Using it as a weapon is itself a violation.
- Do not file false or bad-faith reports against users you simply disagree with or dislike
- Do not coordinate with others to mass-report someone in order to get them removed unfairly
- Do not threaten other users with reporting as a form of leverage
Misuse of our safety tools undermines the protection they offer to people who genuinely need them.
Reporting and Enforcement
How to Report
Every profile, message, event, and group has a report option. Use it whenever you see something that violates these guidelines. Reports are confidential — the person you report will not be notified that you reported them.
What Happens After You Report
Our Trust & Safety team reviews all reports. We may take one or more of the following actions depending on the severity and context:
- Remove the content in question
- Issue a warning to the user
- Temporarily restrict the user’s ability to message or create content
- Suspend the account pending investigation
- Permanently ban the account
- Report the matter to law enforcement where required
We do not share the specific action taken on a report, but every report is taken seriously.
Appeals
If your account or content has been actioned and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal by contacting us at connect@talesbrew.com. Include your account information and a clear explanation of why you believe the action was taken in error. We will review it and respond within 10 business days.
A Final Word
No set of guidelines can cover every situation. When something feels wrong — even if you cannot point to a specific rule — trust that instinct and report it. We would rather investigate something that turns out to be fine than miss something that causes real harm.
Talesbrew is only as good as the people in it. We are grateful that you are here, and we are committed to building a community worth belonging to.
