Talesbrew (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a social discovery platform that helps people find and connect with others nearby through shared interests, events, and groups. By creating an account or using Talesbrew, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

- Event and group content — details you enter when creating events or groups, including titles, descriptions, locations, and rules
- Payment information — when you subscribe to Talesbrew Pro, payment details are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

When you use the Platform, we automatically collect:
- Device information — device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and browser type
- Usage data — features you use, screens you visit, buttons you tap, and time spent in the app
- Log data — IP address, access times, and referring URLs
- Location data — if you grant location permission, we collect your location to show nearby users, events, and groups
2.3 Information From Third Parties
If you connect third-party services or sign in via social accounts, we may receive basic profile information from those providers, subject to their own privacy policies.

- Power our discovery and matching features — including surfacing people, events, and groups relevant to you based on your interests, location, availability, and social style
- Enable group chats, direct messaging, and event participation
- Process subscription payments for Talesbrew Pro

- Analyze usage patterns to improve features, fix bugs, and develop new functionality
- Personalize your discovery feed and recommendations
- Understand which types of events and groups are most valuable to users
Keep the Platform Safe
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, and policy violations

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers. Talesbrew is ad-free. We do not allow third parties to pay to have their products or services promoted to you through the Platform.
4. Location Data
Location is central to how Talesbrew works. Here is how we handle it:
- Permission levels — you may grant location access “While Using App,” “Once,” or deny it entirely. You can change this at any time in your device settings.
- What we use it for — to show you nearby people, events, and groups; to display distances; and to help event organizers set location-based visibility
- Exact address privacy — when you create an event, you control whether the full address is visible to everyone or revealed only to confirmed attendees
- Storage — we store your last known approximate location to power recommendations when you are not actively using the app. We do not share your real-time location with other users without your explicit consent.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in the following limited circumstances:
With Other Users Information you choose to display on your profile — such as your name, photo, bio, interests, and distance — is visible to other users on the Platform as intended by the product. Messages you send are visible to their recipients.
With Service Providers We work with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Platform, including cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics, and customer support. These providers access only the information necessary to perform their services and are contractually required to protect it.
For Legal Reasons We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms of Service.
Business Transfers If Talesbrew is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice in the app before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data You Control
You have meaningful control over your data:
- Edit or delete your profile at any time from Settings
- Delete your account — this permanently removes your profile, messages, and associated data from our active systems within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements
- Location permissions — revoke at any time through your device settings
- Notification preferences — manage in-app under Settings > Notifications
- Group participation — leave any group at any time; your prior messages in that group may remain visible to other members unless you delete them

7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform. Specific retention periods:
- Active accounts — retained for the life of the account
- Deleted accounts — removed from active systems within 30 days; some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days
- Messages — retained for the duration of the conversation or group; deletion of your account does not automatically delete messages you sent to other users
- Payment records — retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations
- Safety and legal holds — certain data may be retained longer if required for an active legal matter or safety investigation
8. Security
We take the security of your data seriously. We use:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) for all data sent between your device and our servers
- Encryption at rest for sensitive personal data
- Access controls that limit which employees can access personal data
